OXVA Xlim 4 vs Xlim Pro 4: Which Should You Buy?

The OXVA Xlim range has been one of our most recommended pod kits for years, and the fourth generation splits it in two: the OXVA Xlim 4 and the OXVA Xlim Pro 4. Both share the same slim pocket-friendly body, the same XLIM top-fill cartridges and the same 30W output ceiling, so the choice comes down to one question. Do you want a kit that makes the decisions for you, or do you want to make them yourself?

Here is the short version.

OXVA Xlim 4: the pick-it-up-and-vape kit

If you are moving on from disposables, switching away from cigarettes, or you simply want a kit that works without a manual, the Xlim 4 is the one we would hand you across the counter. At £15.99 it is also the easier hit on the wallet, and it is in stock now.

There is no screen to read and no menus to learn. Double-press the button and you cycle through three power levels, low, medium and high, up to 30W. The ring light around the button doubles as a battery gauge: green for plenty of charge, blue for mid-range, red when it needs plugging in. USB-C charging at 5V/2A gets you back up and running quickly.

The 1600mAh battery covers most people through a full day of moderate vaping, and the vertical airflow slider sweeps from a tight, cigarette-style MTL draw through to a looser restricted direct-lung pull. You can draw on it or use the button, whichever feels natural, and with ten colour finishes there is a look for most tastes.

OXVA Xlim Pro 4: the kit for vapers who want the dials

The Pro 4 keeps the slim XLIM shape but gives it a different brain. Instead of a ring light you get a large HD colour screen showing your exact wattage and battery level at a glance. Instead of three presets you get adjustable power in 1W steps, so you can match the output precisely to your cartridge and your e-liquid rather than settling for the nearest preset.

The 1800mAh battery is the bigger practical difference for heavier users. It charges at 5V/3A and reaches full in around 40 minutes, and ECO mode stretches a low charge further when you cannot get near a cable. Then there is ABT, Anti-Burn Tech. With a compatible ABT cartridge the Pro 4 monitors your e-liquid level and stops firing before the coil dries out, showing a refill alert on screen instead of giving you that horrible burnt taste. It is the standout feature of the Pro 4.

The Xlim Pro 4 is arriving at Southampton Vaping Centre shortly. Stock is landing soon, so keep an eye on the product page.

Same cartridges, so nothing goes to waste

Whichever you choose, you are buying into the same cartridge system. Both kits use OXVA UNITECH 3.0 top-fill technology: lift the silicone bung, fill from the top, wait about 30 seconds and vape. Leak protection is a step up on earlier generations, and the 2ml capacity is UK TPD compliant.

Resistance options run from 0.4 through 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2ohm, covering everything from a tight mouth-to-lung draw to an airy restricted direct-lung pull. Replacement UNITECH 3.0 pods are not sold separately in the UK yet, but standard XLIM top-fill pods fit both kits and we stock them in every resistance. So if you start with the Xlim 4 and step up to the Pro 4 later, your pods carry straight over.

Our verdict

For most people the answer is straightforward. New to vaping, coming off disposables, or want the simplest kit going: the Xlim 4. It does the thinking for you, it costs £15.99, and it is on the shelf now.

Heavier vapers, RDL fans, or anyone who likes seeing numbers and setting their own wattage: the Xlim Pro 4. The bigger battery, fast charging, colour screen and ABT are genuine everyday upgrades, not gimmicks.

Already own an older Xlim? Either kit is an easy step up, and your existing cartridges keep working.
